She scares me sometimes.
Oh, I puff out my chest, give her my best, stern, I'm somebody's mom too and I'm not ascaired of you look, when I tell her "I'll take her comments into consideration"
But I'll never win an oscar for best actress and I think she sees through my act. I mean she's pretty sharp, she married my little brother. (and I'm kind of fond of him)
We were over there for dinner a couple weeks ago and she gave me an assignment and a deadline. Well, that deadline is coming up pretty quick and my assignment isn't completed.
Worse yet she issued a follow-up assignment due 2 weeks after that first one! Criminy! These aren't itty bitty assignments either, they are potentially life altering ideas I'm supposed to come up with that will affect my whole family, not just me!
This is just like being in school again with homework. And even though we're not catholic, (we're protestant) I have a picture of her in my head dressed in a habit waving a ruler over my knuckles!
Good thing I have caller ID and can tell if it's her calling to ask "Have you got that homework done yet Missy?"
