My beautiful, darling husband took all five kids out today and left me home.....all alone for six hours! Nobody was here except me and the dogs. I can't think of a time since we moved into this house four years ago that I was here all by myself. So, what did I do with my time? Well, a little light cleaning and well, duh, scrapping without interruption! I sat for hours without eating, having

Is everyone ready for a party tonight! My sister and her dh and son will be coming over today, just like every year. We'll bring in the New Year all together. The kids look forward to this every year! We play the Wii, board games, have yummy food and just enjoy having all of us together.
My sister absolutely loved the journaling project with the prompts that I gave her for Christmas. I also

My craft closet is clean! I'm not as fortunate as a lot of you ladies that have a whole room of your own to craft in. That would be a dream come true for me. At this point I'm not sure that my family would ever see me if I had my own craft room...LOL! I share the closet underneath the stairs with the kids and my mom. Unfortunately, that means that about once a month I have to clean it and

Finally! I anticipate the holidays so much. I enjoy every single little bit of shopping, crafting, planning, cooking, time off school, and fun! When it's all done, though, I feel such a sense of relief because I know that I can enjoy the last week off school with the only "must have" to do is complete the second semester lesson plans. I have to set aside a whole day to get that done but

I don't do digital so I don't have the tools to make a nice Christmas card to post here so I thought I'd just post a pic of my kids being themselves. I love this photo! I pray that each and every one of you have a wonderful

This was me this morning. For some reason Dusty, the chocolate lab, wanted to be in my lap. Go figure.....then, of course, Sugar the poodle couldn't let Dusty have ALL the attention. All of this followed by Emma, who was now upset because the dogs took her seat. I was fairly irked at first and then the voice of reason struck my head. It won't be long and no one will want to cuddle in my

Only three days left before Christmas, counting today. The kids would like to NOT count today because two days sounds better than three! They are so funny. I told them you can say there's two days left, not counting today, but you still have to live through today.....so does it really matter? They crack me up! I have all the kids bought for. I just have to pick up one more thing for dh and

Those of us that are parents can all attest to the fact that there are seasons of life where we look at our children and think, "These are the most self-centered people I've ever met!" Okay, well, maybe it is just me and my own children. Sometimes the thought crosses my mind that I'm not that way so aren't they supposed to be like what their parents are? Isn't that some kind of unwritten

Are you ready for it? I'm getting close, but no cigar. I still have to finish crafting one gift, buy a handful of others, make sure I have candy for the stockings and purchase the makings for Christmas dinner. I should be done before the weekend is out. My dh is taking me out for a wonderful dinner Saturday night and we'll finish up all the shopping then.
I want to thank everyone for

Busy, busy, busy! Normally life is pretty busy anyway with homeschooling five children, taking care of the house, driving everyone including myself to the doctor, dentist, etc. Life can be an absolute blur sometimes. The challenge is this......stop in the midst of the blur and just simply enjoy.
I enjoy my family more than anything else. My husband and my kids bring so much joy and laughter to
