I just LOVE decorating the Christmas tree! I know all of us probably relish the same things; going through all of the ornaments, handing them to our kids and retelling the story of how that particular ornament came to us and when. The thing is, I don't think we realize how much they actually mean to our kids.

I made these criss-cross gift card holders for the wonderful men who help teach and lead my kids during AWANA, karate, Sunday school, etc. The women will receive the notebooks I posted, but these holders here will have a Starbuck's gift card inside. I just felt like I couldn't give the women these cute little notebooks but then just stick a gift card inside a Christmas card for the men. So,

My youngest son was baptized yesterday. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior a couple of years ago. Yet, we went through a time for a couple of years when we moved to Buckeye that we couldn't find a church that we felt we could call home. I've been trying to work on my notebooks for the kids' teachers and leaders today. Here are some I did with Private Eye and Bistro. I totally made a mistake when I punched one of the Bistro covers with the Bind It All. I wound up with holes at both the top and bottom of the cover. I decided to cut a black paper ribbon and weave it in and out of the holes. It actually looks like I meant to do

Well, I made it through. Putting out a meal for 12 people is hard work. It's so nice to have family over, though. We are busy folks and live half an hour from our nearest family, which would be dh's dad. Then we're almost an hour from my sister, her dh and son. Just a quick note to say hello and Happy Thanksgiving as I'll, more than likely, be offline tomorrow. I spent the day baking all four of my desserts for tomorrow. I baked apple, pecan and chocolate pies and a huge cheesecake with sour cream frosting. With five children I find there are many people who contribute to their lives. There are people, other than myself, that encourage them, teach them, push them to learn and do things that they think they can't, and take the time to influence and encourage their spirits. Yep, that's what I am! But, I guess, when is that NOT the case? As a homeschooling and stay at home mom of five I don't think I'm ever not busy. Some days are better than others and I usually stay up pretty late at night to ensure that I get some "me" time and creative time. That seems to work well for me. Thank goodness! I've finally had some time to scrap this past week. Hmmm....have I stated how much I love, love, love my ALSB Idea Deck?! Well, I love it!!! Especially when I have a bunch of photos that need to go on one layout. I just thumb through the deck and find a layout I think will work and go from there. No more struggling over a layout to figure out how everything is going to fit
