NOTE: I seem to be having formatting issues I can't seem to fix. My apologies. I last wrote in June and was already thinking about Christmas, thank GOD! You see I work for FEMA, I oversee the flood mapping program in Louisiana, Louisiana got hit by a Hurricane, I got an all expense paid working "vacation" in Louisiana for 10 weeks. TEN WEEKS.....not crafting, no family, no scrapping, just

OH MY, Christmas Is Coming

I know, I know, it is only June.  But I have found out if I do not start thinking about Christmas crafts, cards, and gifts now, then they will not get done.   Last year not only did I not get cards made, I failed to even buy them.  That is a problem.

I did manage to get some gifts made.  I lifted Kay's little box.  Loved that idea.  I took a little different take on a few of them.  But I

I know Thanksgiving is a little far off - but I was extra grateful during my nice, long walk with my puppy Harry last night. Of course by walk I mean him stopping every three seconds to either sniff something, eat an ant, or chase a blowing leaf . . . but I digress. I took a few pictures and wanted to share just a couple of the reasons why I love autumn so much.

1) Crisp, clean air mixed with the

There are two very important things that you need to know about me. In this order:

1. I was born on the 4th of July and I am proud to be an American.

2. I love my Green Bay Packers.

Now, I know not everyone is a football fan - but bear with me here.

Attending the opening game of the NFL season at Lambeau Field last night was one of the most wonderfully American experiences of my life. There was

Today was a hard day for me.

I dropped my daughter off for her first day of high school. I just sat in the car and watched her walk to the door, and I sorta felt like I could cry. She graduated from a class of 18 students in 8th grade, and now she has over 2,000 kids at her high school. She'll put in a 12-hour day today between school, swim practice, and show choir rehearsal, so I'll have to wait

This last quarter of 2010 has been pretty stressful, other than going to retreat, of course!  And receiving the best news ever - we're having a baby!!!  This should hopefully make the year that DH is gone just fly by!  We are both just over the moon in excitement!  So here's my recent dabbling in digi to commemorate the occasion:

Well,  it is finally here.  My final day of Project 365.  I really wouldn't have enjoyed or even started this project if it wasn't for all my good friends here at CS!  It was through the excitement last December of starting this and chatting about it that really got me going.  We have shared our lives and it is a gift I will treasure for years to come.   I feel like you all are my family and this

Album Case - inside

Oh, I just can't wait to give this album case project to my SSIL/SBIL in a few days at Xmas!  Seriously, I am so pleased with this.  They bought a new house this summer, so after looking at Terri's Retreat examples, I thought this album case would be great for them.  I downloaded pictures of the new house and their family off Facebook, believe it or not, printed them, and was ready to go in just

So this has been a super busy month for me!!  I am finishing up Project 365, making Christmas presents, writing Christmas cards, and I joined the birthday card swap.  And for the first 12 days of December I have been busy making Tim Holtz tags.  I am proud to say I have made them all and am looking forward to entering for a chance to win his Grand Prize.

But I think one of the most exciting
